Welcome to We provide our services to you subject to the following conditions. If you visit or shop at, you accept these conditions. Please read them carefully. Our principal activities are the sales of precision cut, tumble polished, sterling silver, gold filled, rose gold filled, white gold filled and copper jump rings for making chain and chainmaille. We also sell sterling silver, gold filled, vermeil, and copper components.

We are a home based business situated in the beautiful Puget Sound area in Washington state. We are not a big manufacturer or a factory and we do not use ring cutting machines. We feel this allows us to give our customers superior customer service and attention to detail equal to none. Our wire coils are cut with a powerful precision saw using an extremely thin blade. The result is a flawless flush cut so that you can produce the most exquisite chains possible. However, we don't stop there. All of our rings are then tumble polished for several hours to remove any minute burs from the cutting process and to work harden them. Our rings are made by our own exceptional artisan, Gena, who is an accomplished jewelry maker in her own right.

Placing An Order

When placing your order please enter your credit card billing address in the Billing Details section upon checkout. Doing so insures that your credit card will be approved by our processor.

You will be prompted for the payment option of your choice during the checkout process. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and money orders. Regardless of the option you select, please note that we strongly prefer shipping to your billing address. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis. We must do this to protect ourselves from fraudulent buyers.

Even though our shopping cart is completely secure and provides the strongest encryption possible, we understand that there are some customers who feel uncomfortable entering their credit card information online. For this reason we have included a button upon checkout that allows a customer to choose to have us call you to collect your credit card information. Upon checkout please list the telephone number that you'd like us to call you back at and the best to time to call you back.

Please use the telephone option only for us to call you to collect your credit card information, not to place an order over the telephone. Orders are filled in the order that they are received by us from the shopping cart notification system. Therefore, trying to call in an order will delay your position in the queue. There is no one dedicated to answering the telephone all day long so it is best if you follow the procedures stated above if you do not want to enter your credit card information in the shopping cart.

The average sized order typically ships out within 2-3 business days of receiving payment, usually sooner. Please understand that there may very well be orders ahead of yours and that this may add to the processing turn around time. Orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday.

Tax ID's

Please note that although there is a section in the shopping cart to provide a tax ID it is not necessary unless you live in the state of Washington and wish to have sales tax removed from your order.

Sales Tax

We have to charge tax on orders destined for Washington state. Rates vary based on the destination of the package within Washinton. Our cart is not capable of charging all of the different sales tax rates that exist in Washington so it is calculated at the highest rate. We will refund the sales tax to you if your rate is lower. Washington residents that have a valid business license will be exempt from sales tax provided they follow the correct procedures as outlined below.

1. Resale Certificate. We must have a copy of your resale license in order to remove sales tax from your order. Please fill out a Washington State resale certificate and fax it with cover sheet to (253) 761-9054 or mail it to us at our mailing address listed below. If you have a scanner we will also accept a scanned copy of the certificate attached in an email.

2. Ordering. Our cart is not capable of automatically removing or refunding your tax, so you will need to pay the tax and upon receiving a copy of your resale license as outlined above and a note in each order, we will refund your tax. With each order you place, you must include your UBI number and put a note in the comments section requesting a tax refund. We will not process your refund without that note.

Please note that tools are not exempt from sales tax.

Rush Orders

If you are in a hurry and need your order sooner than our usual turn around time and usual shipping method you have the option of requesting a rush order. Please write RUSH ORDER in the message box of the shopping cart as well as the date you need the order. Rush orders incur a 25% surcharge . The surcharge is in addition to any express shipping that you may require to get your order to you by the date you specify. We'll contact you with your options as well as provide you with an account of the additional charges.

Bottom line? Don't make us guess. If you have a deadline, tell us on the order so that we can help you make it! In no way can we be responsible for missed deadlines. Also, if you ask us to get your order to you by a certain date that does not fall within our usual production schedule, we're going to assume that you want it rushed and therefore will add the surcharge to cover the night or weekend production work in order to get your order out sooner.

Products Out Of Stock

Our products are normally restocked within a short period of time, however; if your item is out of stock, you will be notified at confirmation with an estimated time for delivery. We are happy to credit or promptly refund all monies submitted for out of stock items.

Bulk Discounts

We reward our customers with bulk discounts. Each size of ring we offer has a bulk price that is automatically applied by the shopping cart whenever 5 or more troy ounces of a particular size is ordered. This discount is for 5 ozt of a particular size, not a total of 5 different sizes.

Since we are a home based business we do not have the means to purchase voluminous amounts of wire that would thereby allow us the ability to pass on further discounts to our customers than what we already offer. Our rings are not coiled and cut by a ring machine. We do everything by hand and put a great deal of care and quality control into everything we make and sell. Our presentation and packaging is top notch as well. We feel that our rings, tools and components are priced fairly and competitively with that of other comparable and even lower end mass produced jewelry suppliers. The pricing structure that we have on the web site is the only pricing that we can extend at this time.

Pricing Practices

Our jump rings are priced by weight in troy ounces, not by the piece, unless otherwise indicated. Counts are approximate and provided to give you a basis for comparing our low prices with those of our competitors and to determine how many rings you will need to complete a project. Due to the ever changing price of metals, we reserve the right to change our prices and pricing practices at any time. If a product is priced inaccurately we reserve the right to cancel any order placed for the product at the incorrect price. We reserve the right to change the contents of this page and all pages in the web site without notice.

Forms of Payment Accepted

We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover. We also accept money orders and personal checks. Sorry, No COD's. Payment must be made in U.S. dollars. Your credit card will be billed under our email address and telephone number. When completing your information in the shopping cart please make sure to put your credit card billing address in the Invoice To sections of the shopping cart. This is for your protection as well as ours.

Checks, Credit Card Fraud, and Other Payment Fraud

Due to fraudulent buyers we are no longer accepting checks or money orders. If you are found guilty of credit card fraud you agree to reimburse us for all of our legal expenses. You may be further liable for punitive damages.

Security and Privacy

Security and privacy are important to us and we've taken substantial measures to ensure yours. We do not sell, lease or otherwise make available any customer information. Your security and a safe shopping environment are very important to us. This website is professionally hosted by a leader in electronic commerce. When you make a purchase through our website, our server uses a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to connect with you. This protocol will encrypt your personal information, guarding it from interception and misuse. Shop with confidence!

Your personal customer information is confidential and will not be sold or disclosed to other parties. Precious Maille does not sell mailing lists and will not disclose your name, email address, or any other information about you to any other company or party. Positive comments made by you to us in writing may be used by us for marketing purposes as testimonials. In such a case you will be identified solely by first name and last initial and by city and state (Example: Jane D., San Franscisco, CA).

Please understand that under no circumstances shall Precious Maille or any of the companies listed on this site be liable for any damage to your computer or software that might have resulted, however direct or indirect, or incidental from your use of the web site or access to the internet.


We typically use USPS Priority Mail for U.S. orders. The shipping costs may be higher for larger orders that require roomier packaging to properly protect them. The additional shipping cost will be based on the total weight of the package. The average sized order typically ships out within 2-3 business days of receiving payment. We fill orders in the order that they are received by our server. Please understand that there may very well be orders ahead of yours and that this may add to the processing turn around time. Orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to use other carriers if we judge this to be necessary. We require a signature on orders valued over $200. If you want your package left with no signature required you agree to waive any claim if your package ends up missing. As we have no control over the security of your home or post box, we assume no responsibility for shipments lost or stolen after it leaves our shop. We also assume no responsibility for packages sent to incomplete or wrong addresses provided by the customer. We require packages valued at $400 and upward to be insured. Because our shopping cart is not terribly sophisticated the additional charges for signature confirmation or insurance will have to be adjusted manually. Therefore you may see a different total on your final bill. If you require overnight delivery, we can ship your order to you via USPS Express Mail. Please be aware, however, that not all post offices will guarantee overnight delivery and another shipping method may need to be used and the price for shipping may change accordingly. Please note in the Messages section of the shopping cart if you require express shipping.

International Shipping

We ship using USPS Priority Mail International for international orders. If your order is too large to fit in a small Priority Mail International box and it requires roomier packaging we will contact you regarding your shipping options and costs. A suitable alternative will be used for the few nations that do not allow Priority Mail International. If you order from a country not listed below, your order will be canceled.

Nations We Ship To

We ship to the following nations: Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and United Kingdom.

Countries We Cannot Ship To

Sadly, postal prohibitions and restrictions, usually restrictions on the import of silver, prevent us from shipping to the following countries: Brazil, Chile, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Nigeria. We do not ship to countries not explicitly listed above due to concerns with credit card fraud.

Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis, although in all instances we will require that a 100% payment for the order be wired to our bank before shipment or sent to us via Western Union.

Customs, Taxes, and Duties

Every country imposes its own taxes, duties and other administrative fees. The buyer is responsible for paying these taxes, duties, fees and any other assessments. The buyer is also responsible for completing any paper work required of his or her government. Please do not ask us to provide false information on invoices or customs forms to reduce your tax bill! Providing false information on customs forms is illegal!

Proof of Identity

We reserve the right to ask for additional evidence of the buyer's identity, if we deem such information to be necessary. Please understand that we must impose this restriction because of the very real problem of identity theft and fraudulent credit card purchases. We also reserve the right to ask for payment via a wiring of funds if your identify cannot be verified to our satisfaction.

Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellation Policies

30 Day Return Policy. Customers may return unopened ring containers within 30 days from the date of delivery of the merchandise for a refund or a store credit. Restocking fees apply on returns as outlined below. After the period of time stated above the rings are yours forever and a return will not be accepted nor will a refund be made so please make sure you order the correct size and quantity. We will not accept returns on opened rings. Our shipping charge and your return shipping costs are not refundable. However, we do have a few nonreturnable items. All sales of stringing materials, and tools are final. All custom cut ring orders are final.

Restocking Fee. A 15% restocking fee shall be charged for all returns. The purpose of this fee is to cover the finance charges and expenses we incur when your order is initially placed and then again when a cancellation is submitted.

Return Procedure. If you are not satisfied with an item we ask that you first contact Precious Maille with your concerns. Merchandise should be insured against loss and returned in new condition. Returned items should be shipped to the address below in the Contact Information section.

Exchanges. Sorry, there are no exchanges on rings. If you change your mind about something you have ordered, simply return the item in accordance with our return policy for a refund, and then place a new order for the preferred item. Components can be returned and exchanged for another component of comparable value within 10 days of receipt. Components must be in the original condition as they were sent and cannot be exchanged for rings. If you cannot find an exchange component offered here to your liking we will issue you a store credit to be used on a future purchase.

Cancellations. Please cancel your order within 24 hours. If the order has already been shipped please return it upon receipt according to our return procedures.

Missing or Damaged Items. Reports of missing or damaged items must be made within 48 hours of receipt.

Contact Information

The most efficient way to contact us is via email. We check it frequently during the day. Please use our Contact form if you do not have our email address in your address book. We don't list it here to try to cut down on Spam. Please note that we often don't get to the phone exactly when it rings because we are in the shop working on orders. However, feel free to leave a voice message so that a return call can be made. Please don't take it personally if a return call is not made immediately. Your business is very much appreciated but it's just that there are only two of us (one most of the time) processing orders so we are very busy getting those orders out the door. Please remember we are on the west coast in the Pacific Time Zone. If you need to call, please be courteous and call between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific, Monday through Friday.
